BP signs agreement to join Jordan gas project

Amman, Jordan-Jordan's government and BP signed October 25 an agreement for the further development of a natural gas field near the Iraqi border that could turn the energy-parched desert kingdom into a gas exporter. The agreement to develop further the Risha field was signed by Jordan's Minister for Energy and Natural Resources Khaldoun Qteishat, BP's chief negotiator Sam Bennett and the chairman of the board of directors at Jordan's National Petroleum Company, Fayez Suheimat. NPC holds the concession for the field.
