Afren to boost output to 65,000 boe/d by end-2010

Cape Town, South Africa—UK-listed African upstream company Afren expects to lift production to 65,000 b/d of oil equivalent by the end of next year through a fully funded exploration program, the company said April 6.Afren hit first oil production during 2008 and is currently producing over 26,000 boe/d from its Nigerian fields. The offshore Ebok field, which has yet to come on stream, is set to contribute over 50,000 boe/d by the end of 2010, the company said.
