Russian oil output fall in 2008 inevitable

Moscow-Russia is now almost certain to record its first annual oil production decline in 10 years after it posted a 0.3% fall in November output to 40.181 million mt (9.78 million b/d), preliminary figures from the country's energy ministry showed December 2. The fall continued the downward trend this year and the first annual fall in output since 1998 now seems inevitable as total output over January-November was 0.5% lower year on year at 447.364 million mt. But the average daily crude output, adjusted for the leap year, saw a 0.8% fall on the year in January through November.
