Jerusalem-The UK's BG Group will not commit to developing the Marine field off the Mediterranean coast of the Gaza Strip until it has commitments by Israeli customers for 1.5 billion cubic meters/year of natural gas, Israeli energy industry sources said December 17. This emerged at recent talks between BG and Israel Electric Corporation (IEC). The sources said December 17 BG also was interested in selling directly to the Israeli government or to the IEC but does not want to sell to private power or industrial users that do not have secured financing.
