Suncor completes repairs to Alberta oil sands upgrader

Houston-Suncor has completed repairs to an upgrader that was damaged in a fire last month at its Fort McMurray, Alberta, oil sands facility, the company said December 29. The fire occurred November 26 during the startup of a vacuum unit following planned maintenance, Suncor said in a statement. While repairs were under way, the No. 2 upgrader ran at reduced rates.
