ExxonMobil starts up Angola’s Kizomba C

Houston—ExxonMobil has started production at the Kizomba C development at the giant block 15 offshore Angola, the company said late January 9. Kizomba C is designed to develop 600 million barrels of oil from the Mondo, Saxi and Batuque fields. The first oil has now come on stream from the Mondo field, while the other two fields are expected to be brought online later this year, the company said. “Mondo production is anticipated to plateau at a peak rate of 100,000 b/d, and plateau production from the three fields is anticipated to reach a total of 200,000 b/d,” ExxonMobil said in a statement.
