Thailand's PTT posts 27% dip in Q3 profit

Singapore-Thailand's state-owned energy company PTT posted net profit of Baht 17.87 billion ($507 million) for the third quarter, down 27% from the corresponding period of last year due to losses at its refining subsidiaries, the company said late November 14. PTT holds stakes of between 30% and 45% in five of Thailand's six refining companies. Sales revenue for the third quarter rose 49% year on year to Baht 589.2 billion as oil prices reached record highs at the start of the period, before declining sharply.
