Pennsylvania to open state forest land to leasing

Washington—Citing increased producer interest in the Marcellus Shale, the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources said July 14 it will hold a lease sale for subsurface oil and natural gas rights on 18 tracts covering just over 74,000 acres in the Loyalsock, Tiadaghton and Tioga state forests in Tioga and Lycoming counties in the north-central section of the state.
