South Africa's Engen finalizes agreement for Total assets

Cape Town, South Africa-South Africa's Engen has finalized its acquisition of Total's downstream operations in three African countries and said it would forge ahead with expansion plans despite the global economic downturn. Under the deal, first announced in July, Engen will take over Total's entire shareholding in its downstream businesses in Rwanda, operating under the name Total Rwanda SARL. Engen also will take control of 100% in Total Burundi, 85.11% in Total Guinea-Bissau and Total's 50% interest in the Guinea Bissau aviation business Aero Services SARL. Petro-gal Guinea Bissau holds the other 50%.
