London—Swiss-based Petroplus, Europe’s largest independent refiner, continued its rapid growth in the fourth quarter of 2007, posting a net profit of 137.1 million compared with a 3.2 million loss in the same period of 2006, as it benefited from new plant acquisitions and sharply higher margins.
