BP cuts Alaska budget, delays ANS project

Anchorage—BP said January 25 it expects to spend 800 million on capital project outlays in Alaska this year, up 17% from 2007, but some 100 million less than originally planned due to the state’s new tax structure. The major also said it and partners Cono- coPhillips and ExxonMobil will delay a 1 bil- lion project on the west end of the giant Prud hoe Bay field due to the new taxes imposed by the state.
