New York—March was milder in Japan, colder in Europe and Canada than a year ago, according to data obtained from Accu-Weather and gathered by Platts. A total of 19 cities geographically representative of Europe had 17.8% more heating degree days in March than in March 2007. The total for the September-March period was 19.3% more degree days than the similar period last year and 10.4% fewer than normal.
