US agency unveils Arctic reserves estimate

Washington—The US Geological Survey on July 23 said the area north of the Arctic Circle contains an estimated 90 billion barrels of undiscovered, technically recoverable oil, along with 1,670 Tcf of technically recoverable natural gas, and 44 million barrels of technically recoverable natural gas liquids in 25 geologically defined areas believed to have potential for petroleum.
