Group preparing to drill gas exploration well in Nenana Basin of interior Alaska

Anchorage-Three Alaskan companies and a fourth partner will drill a gas exploration well in the Nenana Basin 60 miles southwest of Fairbanks, Alaska, a spokesman for one of the local companies, Doyon Limited, said November 18. The two other local partners are Arctic Slope Regional Corporation of Barrow and Fairbanks-based Usibelli Energy, an affiliate of Usibelli Mines, owner of Alaska's only producing coal mine. They will partner with Denver-based independent Babcock & Brown Energy.
