North Slope producers raise concerns with gas pipeline proposal

Juneau—North Slope producers are troubled by parts of Governor Sarah Palin’s legislation on a 30 billion Alaska gas pipeline. Two Alaska legislative committees, the House Oil and Gas Committee and the Senate Resources Committee, held extensive hearings last week on Palin’s proposed Alaska Gasline Inducement Act. Under the act, the state would ask pipeline developers for proposals meeting state goals in return for incentives including a 500 million state grant.
