Does your garden lack drama and feel burned out by August? Perhaps some of your borders could benefit from adding in a few dramatic and exotic plants for a tropical look. I've visited Great Dixter, in Sussex, many times and find it one of the most inspirational gardens ever made. The late gardener and writer Christopher Lloyd gardened with his mother and subsequently spent a lifetime experimenting and developing Great Dixter, which is now under the stewardship of Lloyd's former head gardener, the hugely respected Fergus Garrett.
