OPEC raises ‘call’ on its crude for this year

London—OPEC February 15 raised its forecast for the “call” on OPEC crude and stocks this year by 160,000 b/d, reflecting lower-than-expected growth in non-OPEC supplies. At the same time, it left its forecast of world demand broadly unchanged from its previous forecast, which implies year-on-year growth of 1.2 million b/d. But it warned that a return of warmer-than-normal weather in the next few weeks could reduce world oil demand growth by at least 200,000 b/d.
