Tokyo—Tokyo Electric Power Company has bought two LNG spot cargoes from Nigeria and Oman to compensate in part for lost nuclear generation capacity from the shutdown of the Kashiwazaki-Kariwa nuclear plant damaged in a July 16 earthquake, a source close to Tepco told Platts August 3. The cargoes were bought at a price “not too far” from 8.50-9.00/MMBtu, the source said.
