Inpex sets Abadi plans

Tokyo-Inpex Holdings, Japan's largest upstream player, plans to drill four appraisal wells early next year at its Abadi gas field in the Timor Sea off Indonesia where it is targeting commercial production by 2014, a senior company spokesman said October 18.Inpex's planned appraisal program would determine gas reserves in the field after drilling in 2002 found a "giant" gas field which could support an LNG development, the company has said. Inpex discovered gas in its wholly owned Masela block in 2000 (ON 12/11/00).
