Russian oil major Tatneft reports higher Q3 income

New York-Russian oil major Tatneft disclosed November 13 it earned Rub17.9 billion (671 million) in the first half of 2006 on a US accounting basis, up 13.5% from a year earlier, according to a Tatneft US securities filing. Earnings per share were Rub8.34, up from Rub7.45. Revenues rose 15.9% to Rub161 billion, including excise taxes and export duties. But Tatneft disclosed its non-income taxes soared 45% from a year ago to Rub72.5 billion. Included in that were export duties of Rub41.2 billion, up from Rub28 billion. Production taxes of almost Rub30 billion were up almost 50% from a year earlier. Volumes were not disclosed.
