Kerr-mcgee apr 27 reported net income of us354.5-mil,a 133% increase from the us452-mil it earned a year ago.the company attributed much of the improvement to a 14% rise in gas prices and a 31% jump in production due to its purchase of westport resources in june 2004 and new volumes from its red hawk deepwater field in the gulf of mexico.
