Nigeria says to adhere to deadline to end gas flaring

The Nigerian government is to stick to its 2008 deadline to end natural gas flaring,President Olusegun Obasanjo has warned oil companies.Although the president did not spell out the sanctions for oil firms failing to meet the deadline,the move is said to have forced companies to review various gas utilization projects,according to a report in the Nigerian ThisDay newspaper July 21.
