China says development progressing at disputed East China Sea gas field

Chinese offshore producer CNOOC Ltd's development plan for the disputed gas field in the East China Sea is progressing normally,but a company spokesman based in Beijing said he had not yet been informed if the field had entered production.A senior Japanese government official earlier Sep 20 said China had begun producing from the field.
