In this article, Verie Sandborg of Baxter describes the struggle to develop environmental management standards and goals throughout a multinational organization. Lessons for the globalization of EHS practices are highlighted, including the need to break free from a U. S-bias, the value of input from worldwide EHS employees and the need for patience in the development of global operations' standards.
