VeraSun says starts up new Iowa,ethanol plant

New York-US ethanol producer VeraSun Energy kicked off production August 14 at its 13th plant in operation,taking the company's annual production rate to more than 1.3 billion gal/year,the company said.Construction of its new Hartley,Iowa,plant first started in November 2006.The plant will annually process about 39 million bushels of corn,VeraSun said."It is one of the largest and most efficient facilities in the nation and further expands VeraSun's production platform to provide additional scale to our business,"VeraSun CEO Don Endres said in a statement.
