Lima-Peruvian oil producer Pluspetrol has declared force majeure on exports of its Loreto crude after the pipeline leading from Peru's Amazon fields was shut due to protests by indigenous peoples, an industry source close to the company said April 27. Peruvian state refiner Petroperu, which owns and operates the 30,000 b/d pipeline, shut the line after protesters occupied two pumping stations, the source said. A Petroperu spokesman said he could not confirm the reported pipeline shutdown or the declaration of force majeure.
