Nigerian oil tanker explodes, MEND says responsible

Lagos-An oil tanker exploded January 11 and caught fire while discharging petroleum products in the Nigerian oil city of Port Harcourt, police and shipping market sources said. The tanker, Golden Lucy, was carrying 7,500 mt of gasoline, most probably lightered from a bigger ship that carried the product from Northwest Europe into the Nigeria port of Lagos, shipping sources said.
