Petrobras sells Nishihara LSFO to Tepco

Tokyo—Brazil's state-controlled oil company Petrobras has agreed to sell up to 30,000 kl (188,694 barrels)/month of low sulfur fuel oil to Tokyo Electric Power Company from its newly purchased Nish hara refinery in Okinawa, southwestern Japan, sources close to the deal said April 17. Petrobras will start supplying the LSFO to Tepco from May 2008, and the deal will run until the end of the current fiscal year in March 2009, the sources said. The Brazilian oil giant has been looking for a term buyer of LSFO from the 100,000 b/d refinery in Okinawa since taking over the facility earlier this month.
