Vietnam hikes retail fuel prices by 31-44%

Singapore—Vietnam has raised retail fuel prices by up to 44% effective immediately, government officials announced at a press conference July 21. The price of kerosene saw the largest spike, of almost 44%, from Dong 13,900 (84 cents)/liter to Dong 20,000/l, sources said. Fuel oil was increased nearly 37% from Dong 9,500/l to Dong 13,000/l, while the price of diesel was raised by 14.3% to Dong 15,950/l from Dong 13,950/l. The price of 92 RON gasoline was increased by 31% from Dong 14,500/l to Dong 19,000/l, while 95 RON gasoline was raised to Dong 19,500/l from Dong 14,800/l, the sources added.
