Shell working to improve Nigerian oil production

London-Royal Dutch Shell said May 3 it continues preparations to restart nearly 500,000 b/d of Nigerian oil production currently shut in in the Niger Delta but declined to predict if the output could be restored this year.At the end of the first quarter,some 188,000 boe/d of production net to Shell remained shut-in,but an improving security situation has allowed Shell to restore some 10,000 b/d since then,the company's CFO Peter Voser said in a quarterly earning call with journalists.
