High sulfur Rotterdam fuel oil barges weakened Friday,falling 5.75/mt.Sources said the eastern arbitrage was effectively closed following a fall in Singapore paper as the 180/380cst April spread blew out to 14.25/mt.One trader said weaker sentiment in the barge market was reflective of the heavy March program to move HSFO barrels to Asia,as an estimated 1.4 million mt of HSFO was said to load from Northwest Europe before March 15.Mediterranean fundamentals were unchanged for HSFO as good bunker demand was reported into the Canaries for 180cst fuel oil by end-March.Mediterranean supply remained tight with no sign of prompt availabilities.
