Saudi Aramco awards contracts to boost Arab Light output

Dubai-Saudi Aramco has awarded five contracts to expand Arab Light crude oil production by 250,000 b/d at the giant Shaybah oil field,the state-owned company said April 12."When the plant goes on stream at the end of 2008,production from the Shaybah field will be boosted by 250,000 b/d,"the company said.Saudi Aramco signed contracts April 9 with Canada's SNC-Lavalin for the main engineering,procurement and construction portion of the central producing facilities and with Hyundai Heavy Industries for power generation.
