MTBE/Ethanol:Sold

There was an MTBE sale reported,25,000bbl,trader to trader,on the USAC,at 119.50 cts/gal,for March.The deal was done before the NYMEX gasoline prices collapsed,however.Despite the falling futures and cash markets,producers resisted going lower.The last methanol and butane transactions were reported at 71.50 cts,in the USGC,which puts production costs at about 106 cts/gal,suggesting that USGC MTBE prices of 120.00 cts are profitable for producers.
