Americas crude:Vasconia firming up

Some strengthening was reported in the Vasconia market on firmer Mars(us34.27 34.33/bbl for August)and fears that Basrah in the US couid dry up with an extended delay in pipeline repairs in Iraq.Colombia is still offering 500,000 bbls of Vasconia,loading Jul 14-18,reportedly at us5.00 under August WTI(us38.69-38.73).Colombia and Brazil were both reported to have recently sold 500,000 bbl cargoes at that us5.40 below August WTI,but full confirmation on the buy side was not possible in either transaction.Other market participants also expected the potential lack of Basrah in the US to put additional pressure on Oriente into the US Gulf Coast.
