Clean tanker rates for lifting 75,000mt from the Persian Gulf into Japan have fallen 5 workdscale points to w225, the lowest level since mid-December 2002, according to Platts data. Shell fixed the miPaula Makersk to Japan at w22.75, and market sources expected levels to continue falling toward w220 as June's cargoes are now largely fixed.
