May crude oil on the New York Mercantile Exchange settled US1.37 higher at US30.55/bbl Thursday as a short covering rally prior to the extended holiday weekend sent values soaring across the energy compelx. A latent bullish consideration was also Wendesday's Department of Energy report as well as Apr 24 OPEC meeting.
