China aluminium production unfazed by weak fundamentals

CRU expects Chinese metallurgical grade alumina (MGA) demand to reach an annualised rate ofapproximately 61.3M tonnes in Q3 2015, representing 0.6% quarter-on-quarter and 11.5% year-on-yearincrease. Chinese smelters continue to increase production on an unprecedented scale. This is despiteworries over several challenges facing the maturing Chinese economy.
