Chinese coke prices are expected to pressure negotiations

Discussions for Q3/H2 2014 have begun on a slow note and some market participants already expect another protracted negotiation period. There have been some informal exchanges and enquires to date but deals have yet to be struck for the second half of the year. Over the past few negotiation cycles, calcined coke prices have been under pressure with the slippage of the LME 3-month aluminium price.
