Manganese--The Chinese SiMrt export market faces grave problems

Business in silicomanganese has been exceptionally quiet this month. Domestic Chinese prices fell by 18 percent to Rmb 8,000/t delivered. Producers are stating that domestic demand is extremely weak and that most steel mills can comfortably sustain production for two-three months without purchasing further stock. As a result producers are noticing that their established customers are ordering smaller quantities of material and holding off payment for longer.
