In mid-2011, Qatar's telecom regulatory agency, called ICTQatar, said it was committed to overseeing construction of a nationwide FTTH network, and cited a goal of "more than" 95% of premises passed by 2015. According to ITU statistics, Qatar has 138,000 households; CRU estimates the project will cover 155,000 to 160,000 premises.
