China's demand is driving 13 percent growth in world total

Despite the recession, worldwide fibre demand for Q1 through Q3 is up 13 percent over the same period last year. The 80 percent surge in China's demand offsets the downturns in North America, Europe, and elsewhere. China's fibre customers have consumed 60 million km through September, and reports in the first month of Q4 suggest that demand could remain strong through year-end. If so, annual growth could exceed 15 percent worldwide this year.
