Multimode fibre and cable, which was flat from 2006 to 2007, may show more growth in 2008. The first quarter was up 12 percent over Q1 07, although it was below the levels of Q3 and Q4 07. The growth factors include new building construction and business investment in developing economies such as India and the Middle East. Multimode demand in the US, Western Europe, and other advanced telecom markets has been relatively flat.
