US scrap market: Exports to China continue to decline

A couple of months ago, we commented on how there was a lot of investment going into downstream processing of scrap, to increase the ability to sort and separate out different alloys in order to get value added products out. There is also a lot of investment going into technology that upgrades zorba (the nonferrous contents of shredded material). This technology sorts out the copper and stainless, and sorts out sheet aluminium versus castings.
