Jilin Gonnell to Use Honeywell's Process For Methanol-to-Olefins Plant in China

Beijins—Jilin Connell Chemical Industry Co. Ltd. has selected Honeywell UOP's Advanced Methanol-to-Olefins (MTO) process to convert coal into olefins in Jilin City, China. The new plant, scheduled for completion in 2017, will convert local sources of methanol into 300,000 t/y of ethylene and propylene. Offtake from the new facility will be supplied to ethylene oxide and propylene oxide producers currently operating in the same industrial park.
