Solvay Divesting Acetow Business

Brussels—Solvay has reached an agreement to sell its cellulose acetate tow business, Acetow, to private equity funds managed by Blackstone. The transaction, with an enterprise value of approximately ?1-billion, is subject to customary closing conditions and approval by relevant antitrust authorities. Completion of the transaction is expected in the first half of 2017.
