NWIW Boosting Production Capacity At Tacoma Gas-to-Methanol Facility

Seattle-Northwest Innovation Works (NWIW) said it will nearly double its capital investment to $3.4-billion with plans to increase production capacity at its Port of Tacoma natural gas-to- methanol project (PCN, 17 Aug 2015, p 4). NWIW's is also planning a $1.8-billion natural gas-to-methanol facility in Port of Kalama, Washington, and a $1-billion gas-to-methanol plant in Port Westward, Oregon. Methanol produced from the three facilities will be exported to Asia for the production of olefins.
