Amec Foster Wheeler Awarded Contract For Chinese Coal-Based Chems Project

Shanghai- Shenhua Ningxia Coal Group has awarded a three-year project management contract to Amec Foster Wheeler for Shenhua's coal-based chemical by-product deep processing complex utilization project in the Ningxia Hui Autonomous region in northwest China. The project includes a plant designed to produce various coal-chemical products, including polyethylene, polypropylene, synthetic ammonia and aromatic hydrocarbons, as well as a 1.4-million t/y cracker. Operations are expected to begin by mid-2017.
