Nova Reaches Mechanical Completion Of Its Joffre PE1 Expansion Project

Joffre—Nova Chemicals' PE1 expansion project at its Joffre, Alberta, site in Canada has reached mechanical completion (PCN, 2 May 2016, p 1). The project involved installation of a third gas phase reactor at the site, which is designed to produce approximately 1-billion lbs/yr of Novapol butene linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE). Production at the site will be increased by 40% to about 3.5-billion lbs/yr of LLDPE.
