Mitsui Chemicals Discloses Closures Related to Business Restructuring

Tokyo—Mitsui Chemicals last week announced the planned closures of several production facilities as part of a business restructuring plan, which was approved by the board of directors. The plan includes the shut down of all plants at the Ka-shima Works site in Japan by 31 Dec. 2016. This includes the production of 117,000 t/y of toluene diisocyanate, 32,000 t/y of maleic anhydride, 15,000 t/y fumaric acid, 1,500 t/y of specialty isocyanates and 900 t/y of hexame-thylene diisocyanate.
