EC Clears Aramco's Acquisition of S-Oil

Brussels— The European Commission, under the KU Merger Regulation, has approved the proposed acquisition of S-Oil of South Korea by Saudi Aramco (PCN, 7 July 2014, p 2). Earlier this year, Aramco Overseas, a subsidiary of Saudi Aramco, reached an agreement to acquire Hanjin Group's 28.4% interest in S-Oil to become the largest shareholder with a 63.4% stake.
